Ambassador Terms
Last updated 9 October 2026
These terms
- These terms apply when we invite you to be an ambassador of pass the year and you accept. They form part of our Terms of Service, use the same defined terms, and are an agreement between you and the company identified below.
- You accept them on your Ambassador page. You must accept them before any reward is issued to you.
- Your programme, your rewards and how long each reward is held are shown on your Ambassador page. Where that page and these terms differ, these terms apply.

Who can be an ambassador
- We invite ambassadors ourselves. You do not need a membership to be invited. An invitation does not oblige you to do anything.
- You can share your link, your code and your Passes from the age of 16, the age you need for an account.
No exclusivity, no obligations
- You are free to recommend other products and to work for anyone else, including our competitors.
- We are free to invite other ambassadors, to run other programmes and to promote pass the year in any other way. We promise you no exclusivity, no territory and no number of friends.
- You have no targets, no hours and no duty to share. You decide when and how you talk about us.
- You are not our employee, agent or representative. You may not make promises in our name, and you may not say that you speak for us.
- Share honestly. Say that you are an ambassador when you recommend us, do not send messages to people who did not ask for them, and do not pay or bid for advertising on our name.
How a friend counts for you
- A friend counts for you when they come to us through your link, your code or a Pass you gave them, and they had never paid us before. Having an account with us already does not stop a friend counting.
- Each friend counts for one ambassador only. Where a friend used more than one ambassador's link, code or Pass, the rules of the programme decide who they count for, and that choice is final.
- You cannot count for yourself, and a second account of your own is not a friend.
Rewarded per result
- You earn a reward only when a friend who counts for you does what your programme rewards, such as paying for a membership. Sharing on its own earns nothing.
- A reward is first held for the number of days your programme shows. This gives a friend time to use their right to withdraw.
- Where a friend withdraws, is refunded or reverses a payment during the hold, the reward for it is cancelled or reduced. Once a reward has been issued to you, a later refund does not take it back.
- Some rewards are earned when a number of your friends have paid, as your programme shows. We count again at the end of the hold, and a friend who was refunded by then does not count.
- A reward earned through a breach of clause 3.5, or through a friend who is not real, is cancelled and is never issued. Where it was already issued, we may withdraw it.
Your rewards
- A reward is money off your membership, a personal discount code, or a Pass. Your programme shows which reward each result earns.
- Once a reward has passed its hold it is issued to you. Money off is taken off the price of your next membership payment automatically, and money off you earn before that payment adds up. Where it is more than the payment, that payment is free and the rest comes off the payments after it. Where you have no membership, it comes off your first full payment once you take one. A code works on a membership for as long as it shows. A Pass gives what it shows, for as long as it shows.
- Rewards are never paid out in money and cannot be exchanged for money. They are for your own account.
- Money off stays on your account until it is used. It ends when your account is deleted.
- A reward that has passed its hold waits until you have accepted these terms.
- We may hold a reward while we look into a reasonable concern about it, such as fraud or a breach of these terms, and we do not issue what clause 5.5 cancels.
Tax
- A reward is a lower price, a code or a Pass for your own account, never money. Where it counts as income for you, declaring it is your own responsibility. We do not give tax advice.
- You and we agree that the payroll tax arrangement for persons treated as employees (gelijkgestelden) does not apply to your rewards. By accepting these terms you confirm that choice in writing, and we withhold no payroll tax or social security contributions.
Ending
- You can stop being an ambassador at any time by telling us.
- We can end it at any time, and we will give you a short reason. We can also pause it while we look into a concern, and while it is paused a new friend does not count for you.
- When it ends your link stops counting and the code we made for your friends is switched off. Rewards already issued to you stay yours.
- Rewards you earned before the end keep their hold and are issued as set out in clause 6, unless clause 5.3 or clause 5.5 applies or we have a right to hold them under clause 6.6.
Changes to these terms
- We may change these terms where we change the programme, where the law or a regulator requires it, or to correct an error or make a term clearer. A change does not reduce a reward you have already earned.
- We will tell you before a change takes effect. A change takes effect when it is published on this page, and the date shown at the top is the date of the version in force.
- If you do not accept a change, you may stop being an ambassador under clause 8.1.
General
- Transfer. We may transfer this agreement to another company, including where a business or product is sold or reorganized, provided your rights under it are not reduced. You may not transfer it.
- Notices. We give notice to the email address held on your account, and a notice takes effect when it reaches you.
- No waiver. Where we do not enforce a provision of these terms, that is not a waiver of it and does not prevent us from enforcing it later.
- Severability. Where a court or competent authority finds a provision unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in force, and that provision is read down to what the law permits rather than removed.
Contact and governing law
- Ask us about your rewards and we will answer. Our details are in the company details above.
- These terms are governed by Dutch law and disputes are subject to the Dutch courts. Where you are resident elsewhere in the European Union, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory law of your country of residence.
